A few answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. If you have more questions that need answers, please feel free to contact us.

Question: WHAT IS A 3D IMMERSIVE TOUR?

Answer:

A 3D Immersive Tour is much like traditional 3D tours, with a few differences. Immersive Tours have: a higher precious of quality, no fisheye or warped looking edges, the ability to self-navigate the property with points of interest laid out inside the tour. Our tours also have the ability to use VR glasses, use a mobile phone/tablet, or desktop computer. It’s immersive because it’s not directed. It’s interactive and realistic.

Question: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SCAN A PROPERTY?

Answer:

Most properties can be scanned from between 1-4 hours. The larger the size, or the more clean-up needed, that longer it will take.

Question: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY SCAN BACK?

Answer:

Scans on (1) one property can usually be done and ready to post on the web within 24 hours. If multiple properties are done, or if the property is extremely big, there may take up to 48 hours before it is ready.

Question: DO YOUR 3D IMMERSIVE TOURS LOOK WARPED LIKE MOST 3D (PANORAMIC) VIDEO/PHOTO TOURS?

Answer:

Warping, as in the type in traditional 360-degree (panoramic) video/photos, is all but unnoticeable. The difference is we actually use 3D scanning technology, and it essentially reconstructs a 3D environment. This gives you a more accurate tour where the client/patron can feel like they are actually in the property.

Question: CAN YOU SCAN THE OUTSIDE OF A PROPERTY?

Answer:

The answer is yes, but optimal scan time is in the evening or at dusk when the light from the sun is still available, but not at peak strength. Usually we like to recommend drones for the outside of properties, though we can scan if necessary. Drones can capture photos, time lapse, or video.

Question: IS GOOD LIGHTING INSIDE THE PROPERTY IMPORTANT?

Answer:

Though HDR (high dynamic range) is collected by the equipment to be used later for full rendering, having the space adequately lit will help alleviate shadows which can actually increase scan time in some cases. Our techs will ensure the area is properly lit by turning on all available lights in the area during the scan.

Question: ARE THE 3D IMMERSIVE TOURS 100% MLS COMPLIANT?

Answer:

Yes. They are fully MLS compliant.

Question: WHERE WILL THE 3D TOURS BE HOSTED AND WHAT WILL IT COST?

Answer:

3D tours will be hosted through VWI, on our personal storage server. Hosting costs will vary, depending on how long it will need to be stored. So most hosting costs will be on a case-by-case basis.

Question: HOW SOON CAN WE GET STARTED?

Answer:

It really depends on how busy we are. It could be as early as (1) one day, or up to (2) two weeks. If you are open/available for late evenings for scannings, we may be able to fit you in sooner. Please keep in mind that any scans taken in the evening/night will have dim light for any objects outside windows.

Question: HOW WILL I EMBED THESE TOURS?

Answer:

This might happen in a few ways:

Web code will be given to you to place in your own site (or preferred site), much like embedding a YouTube or Vimeo video.
For a small fee we can embed the code for you on your site
In the future, VWI will be able to host the video for you on our own property site (currently planned to be free with paid hosting)

Question: WHAT IF I FIND A BETTER PRICE WITH A LOCAL COMPETITOR?

Answer:

We will match any price of a competitor in the area we service. Others may be tempted to low ball and do a service to just beat anyones price. At the end of the day, a few factors come into play for matching prices

We believe that our knowledgebase and skills far exceed most of our competitors
If all a company does is undercut other businesses, how will they be able to stay open if they cant afford to pay their techs/employees
We believe that by being fair and competitive by matching prices, we can still back our products/services they way they should be without cutting corners.
